These are various utilities or 'helper' applications for your PalmOS device. Many of them are Jewish or Hebrew related, but some are simply viewers or utilities that are needed to use other software on this site. Please read the descriptions for more information.
Penticon Technologies Ltd. - Shareware
The 05-What? application is used to automatically convert Israeli cell phone numbers on your Palm Organizer to their new format. There are 3 modes of operation for the 05-What? application: Test Mode - allows you to enter an old cell phone number and convert it to the new format. Preview Mode - goes through your Address Book and shows you all of the numbers that will be changed, and their new numbers. No changes will be made in the Address Book in Preview Mode. Convert Mode - goes through your Address Book and converts all of the cell phone numbers in the chosen fields to their new format. You can choose to confirm each change before it is made. Convert mode can only be used if you have registered 05-What?.

As of the April 20th, 2004, the cellular carriers in Israel have changed their numbering plan to extend the number of digits. This is a conversion utility to convert the cellular phone numbers on your Palm to the new format.

Daily PopUp is a HackMaster extension that Pops Up a window once a day. You can set Daily PopUp to activate once per day or each time the PalmPilot is turned on. Some of the software on PilotYid uses DailyPop to work.

You can replace the standard PalmOS Datebook alarms with one from this collection of Hasidic songs. Requires at least the PalmOS version 3.0 and higher. Please read the ReadMe file before installing. This app will prevent Hebrew PiLoc from being set to Hebrew Graffiti every time the device resets. No action needed other than installation.

Izzy Bloom - Freeware
This app will toggle Hebrew Graffiti within Hebrew PiLoc on or off every time it is launched. It is useful when used in conjunction with a program such as Easylaunch, when you configure a programmed stroke to activate (launch) it. It is only needed in programs that do not have a Graffiti shift indicator. Note that if activated, the current application will be relaunched.

'Reset Shabbos List' works in this way: Create a category in the Todo/Tasks application named "Shabbos". Make a list in the category of all the things you generally do for Shabbos. Every Friday at 12:00 a.m. any items in that list will be set to 'Not Done', and be set to the current day. As you accomplish each task on Friday, check the Check box to make it done. The next week it will be there again! You can set the preferences in the Todo/Tasks application to hide completed tasks, so that you don't see the list all week.

This interesting little application lets you use your PalmPilot as a compass. After entering your longitude, latitude and time zone you simple point your PalmPilot at the sun and Sun Compass calculates what direction North is. Comes in handy when you're wondering what direction to face when you're Davening (praying).

All of the files available for download on PilotYid are compressed in the '.zip' format. You need a Zip decompression program to decompress these files before using them. WinZip is one of the best Zip decompression programs that exists I provided this link just in case you don't have a decompression program. WinZip is shareware, but is free to try.
